Gongju: Gongsanseong Fortress

Getting to the start

Change to a city bus at KTX Gongju Station, or take an intercity coach from Seoul Nambu Terminal to Gongju. The fortress is close to the bus terminal. The wall rises and falls, so wear comfortable shoes.

   The royal fortress from the period when Baekje's capital was Ungjin, today's Gongju — a UNESCO World Heritage site. The wall runs 2.6km along a ridge above the Geum River, and the full loop takes a little over an hour. It rises and falls, so wear something comfortable.
