Seogwipo Falls & the Lava Cliff
A waterfall you reach on foot from town, and a cliff of hexagonal columns where lava met the sea. On Jeju's south coast this is the pairing with the least walking.

Getting to the start
Jeju Airport
제주공항
Public transport here is genuinely awkward. Allow extra time.
The 600 airport limousine runs from Jeju Airport through the Jungmun resort area and on into Seogwipo town. It is an hour and forty minutes to Seogwipo, with stops at Daepo and Jungmun on the way. Jeju has no railway, so unless you rent a car the bus is the only option.
The route
- 1
Cheonjiyeon Falls
Seogwipo · 1hA waterfall you can walk to from the middle of Seogwipo town. The path from the car park is flat the whole way, which makes it one of the easier sights on Jeju. It is lit after dark, so a late visit works. Subtropical forest fills the gorge and keeps it cool even in summer.
- Bus30m
About 30 minutes back out toward Daepo on the 600 or a trunk bus. From the Jusangjeolli stop it is a five-minute walk to the ticket office, and the viewing deck is right behind it. Buses are infrequent — check the return time before you go in.
2Jusangjeolli Cliff
Jungmun · 50mA cliff of hexagonal columns, formed where lava hit the sea and cooled. Each column stands several times a person's height, which photographs rarely convey. Viewing is from a deck only — there is no way down to the water. Rough days are the better ones to come.
