Mangwon Station

5m

5 min walk from Mangwon Station (Line 6) to the market. The aisles are narrow and busy with evening shoppers, so start a couple of hours before sunset if you want to sit by the river.

The route

  1. 1

    Mangwon Market

    Mangwon · 50m

Not a tourist market — this is where the neighbourhood does its shopping, which is why prices are low and the aisles are tight. Most people use it to buy something to carry down to the river.

  2. Walk15m

Walk about 15 minutes toward the river and you pass through the Mangwon underpass into the park. To skip the walk, take the Mapo 09 or Mapo 16 village bus and get off at Mangwon Nadeulmok — the underpass beneath the road.

    2

    Mangwon Hangang Park

    Mangwon · 1h 30m

The riverside park that filled up last, so finding a spot is still easy. It sits between the Seongsan and Yanghwa bridges and faces the sunset squarely across the water. Bicycles can be rented on site.
